JONAS/ Jonas Brothers Official Twitter/ JB Bamboozle/ JB 3D

The Jonas Brothers long-awaited series for the Disney Channel has an airdate — May 2, at 8 p.m.

“JONAS,” which has been in the works since last year, will follow the three brothers — Kevin, Joe and Nick — who will play fictional rock stars trying to live normal lives.

“The true test of artists is their willingness to stretch creatively — to tackle new challenges,” Disney Channels World Wide entertainment president Gary Marsh said in a statement. “The Jonas Brothers, already established as music superstars, have done just that with ‘Jonas’ by stretching beyond their established comfort zone into the world of comedy.”

The show has the three brothers living in a New Jersey home. Though their characters’ last name is Lucas, the band on the show is called Jones, because they live on Jonas St. The live with their parents, and young brother Frankie.

In the opener, Nick Lucas writes a love song for a girl he just met, despite warnings from his brothers that he’s moving too fast. Later, the brothers go to the girl’s concert where she sings the song to another guy.

Production began on the series in September.

Upcoming episodes will have Joe falling for a girl who plays cello in the school orchestra and won’t date a rock star. So he joins the orchestra.

In another, all three have a crush on a pizza delivery girl, so they keep ordering pizzas over and over.

The premiere of “JONAS” will be simulcast on Sprint TV and MobiTV, and available at Disneychannel.com.

It will also be available to Disney On Demand customers April 25.

No surprise, Disney will build a weekend around the lauch, with new episodes of the network’s other shows surrounding the premiere.

May 2 will include a rerun of “Camp Rock,” starring the brothers at 11 a.m., leading into a 15-episode marathon of “Hannah Montana.” “Jonas” will air at 8, followed by a new episode of the “Wizards of Waverly Place.”

Disney is putting a lot of effort behind the launch of “JONAS” and for good reason.

The Jonas Brothers are everywhere, including award shows and their pictures are plastered on the walls of tweens everywhere.

Likewise, besides “JONAS,” the brothers will be in the sequal to “Camp Rock,” expected to film this summer.

Yet, with any massive group, there’s always the question of how big can they get.

Joe Jonas told the Daily News last summer that the brothers do talk about their audience, and what may happen down the road.

“That’s one of the things, being in a band - we wonder when our fan base’s going to stop caring. When are they going to get over us?” he said. “At the same time, our fans are going along for the ride with us.”

Look who’s Twittering! It’s the Jonas Brothers! And they’re on Twitter! FINALLY! OFFICIALLY! ACTUALLY AND FACTUALLY! (Best. Passover. Ever!)

First, if you haven’t yet, lest you move another MUSCLE, follow the Jonas Brothers on Twitter at @Jonasbrothers.

The Jonas Brothers posted the Tweet heard ’round the Jonasphere at around 6:30pm ET on Wednesday, April 8. (Don’t you like how this is all official-like?) It was short but sweet and straight to the point: Jonas Brothers Official Twitter! (Fair enough!)

As I write this, the Jonas Brothers already have over 15,000 Twitter followers, which is decidedly more than Liam Gallagher @liamgallagher, well over of Yoko Ono’s Twitter following (and she’s older than all FOUR Jonas Brothers combined, AND she was married to a BEATLE!), though not even close to Heidi Montag’s Twitter following (you know — the one where she talks about hot pink Chanel shorts… and the Bible = a winning combination!)

Also, I just need to point out that currently, the Jonas Brothers’s Twitter following also isn’t anywhere near Russell Brand’s/ @rustyrockets following of over 188,000 Twitters strong. And that, Jonas fans, is yet another reason to follow the Jonas Brothers on Twitter. (Personally, I’m betting that the Jonas Brothers’ Twitter following will lap Russell Brand’s by the time I hit “publish” on this bad boy.)

According to multiple sources, including Honor Society sources that have emailed us, the Jonas Brothers are planning to make a surprise appearance at Bamboozle 2009 in New Jersey performing alongside with Honor Society on May 3 (The same day that Demi Lovato is performing - how ironic!). The JB are making these plans and hoping that they do not fall through. Tickets for Bamboozle are still available. Note to JB fans though - reminder they may only be singing 1 song with HS - Don’t Close the Book.

Everyone is having all sorts of success with 3-D these days — everyone except the Jonas Brothers. OK, to be fair, the Jonas Brothers now own one of the highest-grossing concert films ever. To date, the film has brought in more than $19 million, according to Box Office Mojo. That’s about $10 million more than a 3-D from U2 scored. On the downside, the Jonas Brothers were far from the breakout success that met Miley Cyrus’ 3-D film, “The Best of Both Worlds,” which has grossed more than $65 million. MISS
